Backup Technology’s solution can perform live backups of databases and transaction logs on your clustered or non-clustered Microsoft SQL (MSSQL) Servers. This provides the ability to perform Point in Time (PIT) recovery without the need for tapes or agents. The master database will also be protected allowing restoration of the full SQL instance to new or existing hardware in the event of failure.
A single installation of the Windows software solution within your Wide Area Network (WAN) and the credentials to connect to the MSSQL Server is all that is needed for MS SQL backup.

How is this done without agents?

The software solution provided has native support for MSSQL which allows it to connect to the MSSQL Server and request backups of databases and transaction logs from across the WAN in the same way applications would access the server.
