With our software solution, you are able to protect and backup live databases on IBM DB2 Database Servers on Linux and Solaris platforms completely free of agents.
We can protect these servers from a single installation of our software on a Linux machine within your Wide Area Network (WAN), alongside an installation of the IBM DB2 Client software.
How is this done without agents?
To perform a dump of the IBM DB2 databases, our software solution utilizes the client software to initiate a connection to the database server to make the dump requests. The software then accesses these dump files by connecting to the database server using either UNIX-SSH or NFS, just like when backing up regular files.
