Because the HP UX operating systems are based around the UNIX architecture, our software solution can protect and back them up in the same way as a Linux or UNIX machine. HP UX is built with security in mind, so the UNIX-SSH daemon would be disabled by default and would merely need to be configured to allow our software solution read access.
The single Linux installation of our software solution would then only require the secure credentials it would need to communicate with the HP UX machine’s UNIX-SSH daemon and backup the critical data you require protecting.
How is this done without agents?
UNIX and Linux machines are able to communicate with each other natively, therefore, with our software solution installed on a Linux machine, it can then use the underlying Linux installation’s native APIs to communicate with the UNIX machines that you wish to back up and access. As such, you can get to their resources without the need for any additional software. This process really will streamline your operations as you will not need to make any software modifications to your UNIX infrastructure.
