How we do it, and who we do it for
Our clients range from local charities and educational institutions to Premiership Football Clubs and Councils. Though they differ in size and profile, they share the highest level of service, solution and support that comes with choosing Backup Technology as their ‘data guardian’.
Liverpool FC
Shoring up Liverpool’s defence
The Challenge: Accelerate backup, prevent data loss, ensure business continuation, achieve Cost efficiencies.
Liverpool FC was previously using legacy tape-based backup and disaster recovery (DR). Switching to disk-to-disk from tape was essential for Liverpool FC to increase the speed of the backup and recovery, as well as to guarantee a 100% success rate in retrieving lost data. With tape backup every time a backup of the i-Series based ticketing system was carried out, the entire system had to be closed down, limiting backups to once a day only.
Everton FC
Backup Technology, the UK’s leading online backup and disaster recovery provider, has been selected by Everton Football Club to protect its data and ensure business continuity. By offering unlimited capacity and data management, Backup Technology can guarantee that Everton will never lose any data from its files or mail servers.
Previously, Everton Football Club relied on a tape backup system for its 2 terabytes of files, which include emails and databases for ticketing, merchandising and customer relationship management. But this was unreliable and time-consuming.
British Red Cross
The British Red Cross is a nonprofit organization with 222 offices across the United Kingdom. The central office houses the main computer center, with 80 Windows, SUSE Linux and Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) servers. GroupWise is used as the mail system. Two other data centers house the PeopleSoft financial systems and the call center systems. Of the remaining remote offices, 70 have Novell OES servers for files and GroupWise e-mail, while the rest have only Windows-based PCs.
International Baccalaureate
Backup Technology, the UK’s leading online backup and disaster recovery provider, has been selected by the International Baccalaureate (IB), to centralise and remotely back up more than 1 terabyte of data from five offices around the world. By providing unlimited capacity and data management, Backup Technology can guarantee that the IB will never lose any data from its file or mail servers.
