Macs are able to communicate with each other natively, and because Mac is based around the UNIX architecture it is also able to natively communicate with other Linux and UNIX machines.
With Backup Technology’s software solution installed on a Linux machine, it can then use the Linux installation’s native APIs to communicate with the Mac machines that you wish to back up and access. As such, you can get to their resources without the need for any additional software.
